A friend of mine at dinner at Crapplebees the other day and big supprise, the food sucked. The dumbass waiter offered to "send" them a coupon for free meals. I filled her with a few choice comments she SHOULDA said.. like "You gave me a free meal at this shithole? What the hell am I gonna do with that? Wipe my ass? Your 'food' almost killed me the first time!"
Never eat at a fast food chain..

Re: Free Meal
Mon, December 11, 2006 - 8:09 AMLast time I was at this particular emporium, my Esteemed Spouse and I agreed that we cook better than they do and we haven't been back in years. They share the honor with plenty of other restaurants, but there are certainly restaurants we tolerate (cheap/convenient) and others we enjoy (for harder to prepare foods and extremely good/elegant nights out).
What you should have said, "Never mind. Put the cost of that free meal towards cooking lessons for the chef." -

Mon, December 11, 2006 - 1:40 PMholy crap, I look forward to eating at fast food chains, or atleast I used to, they have become quite the novelty in my world..... damn you guys could have really had a case for suing them, but then again that brings about all sorts of moral dilemas, for me anyways. But then again I'm not American.

Sat, February 3, 2007 - 5:56 AMSimilar experience at rotttencrapplebees- our food was served on plates that were still wet from the dishwasher..now having worked in a few restaurants myself, I know what the inside of a restaurant dishwasher looks like- filled with slimey leftovers, sauce, spit I'm sure...
So I said to the waitress, "This is gross, the plate is still wet. from the dishwasher!" Her reply was , "well...you can wipe it off with your napkin.." I said, "Send this back, I don't want anything! "
I should have said, " Listen you f***ing moron, you are an idiot. You wipe off the G**Da** plate yourself and then go stick it up your ___!
But, I didn't...
By the way, we boycott Scrapplebees now..and FOREVER! -

Re: Free Meal
Sun, February 4, 2007 - 6:08 PMI actually worked at Crapplebees when I was a youngin. Yes the food sucks and the service is typically not much better, I can attest that when I worked at one that most of the food was not microwaved. Only some of the steamed veggies were microwaved. Anyhow I refuse to eat at Applebees because it is commonly an overall negative experience almost every time. It seems as though a guide line for being an Applebees server is to be fired for being a shitty server every where else. As far as the food goes, what do you really expect for overpriced fast food?
One experience I had with an Applebees though was very interesting. A large group of us decided to go out for drinks and to eat after a company function. It was decided by the majority to go to Applebees (don't ask why, they must have never been before) so that was our destination. We arrived around 10 o'clock and upon entering, we saw a manager and courteously asked if they would be closing soon or if they would be open long enough to take care of us. The manager said no problem at all and took us to a set of tables which we put together to make one big one. We ordered our drinks and food but immediately after we got our drinks they made last call. So we asked why they were having last call so early. The manager then tells us that they were not busy enough so they were going to close the bar for the night. We expressed that this was not what we wanted and that our reason for coming was for drinks and food but mostly drinks. He apologized and said that it was too late, that he had already cut the bartender. So we said fine, then we don't want these drinks. So we got up and left our drinks on the table and walked out. They start yelling at us to stop and that we had to pay for our drinks. We said fuck you and contintued to walk. The manager ran to the door and attempted to LOCK it, no shit haha. I stepped up and gave him until a count of three to step aside or I would kick him through the door and make a way out. He complied and as we walked out we were met by several cop cars whom the employees called stating that we were trying to walk out on our bill. After about a half an hour of explaining the nonsense the police decided that we were right and they were wrong and let us go. That was my final straw with that place!
