I tuned a piano for this old Russian guy last night. He was a really good jazz pianist. He bought a Pramberger piano. It was a total piece of crap grand piano. Bottom of the line. I took two hours and put a really nice concert tuning on the damn thing.. which is a tough thing to do on a crappy piano. I finally get done, check the 4ths and 5ths.. Nice. Then he comes in and says "This!" and slams his finger on one of the keys.. "Needs more sharp!".. I listen to the 4ths and 5ths again.. listen to the octave.. nope it's perfect.. but.. ok I tune it sharp and say "There?" he says "MORE SHARP" and hits it again.. I tune it sharper. The Octave is completely dead now and the 4ths and 5ths are screaming! but ok.. then he chooses seven or eight more notes and says "MORE SHARP!" and slams the notes.. I'm thinking that a sledge hammer might be more effective.. I am also looking around for a candid camera cause there's NO possible way this is for real.. 1/2 an hour later he's happy. The piano sounds like crap. I leave.

The thoughts of what I wanted to say are still spinning in my head.. like "You fkking moron! you bought a POS piano and you want it to sound like this? Buy a goddam chainsaw next time!!" I still think it was some sort of joke and I'm waiting on the punch line.. soafb..
